We implement ideas for the Destin project: A master class of former BBC World Service news editor Danika Ilich was held at MSU

On December 16, 2020, at Mariupol State University, the training «Innovative Storytelling in Multimedia» by former BBC World Service news editor, international media trainer of the World Network of Ethics of Journalism (EJN), media consultant of UNESCO projects Danika Ilich gathered students, teachers, bloggers, editors of local mass media. With the help of the latest technologies, the event connected Mariupol and London in real time.

The training was held in a mixed format: some of the audience worked offline at MSU, other participants used online communication. MSU continues to disseminate the best European journalism practices and implement the ideas of the international project Erasmus+ DESTIN «Journalism Education for Democracy in Ukraine: Developing Standards, Integrity and Professionalism».

Students, teachers of the Department of Social Communications, journalists, public relations specialists together with Danika Ilich analyzed examples of storytelling on various multimedia platforms. Participants had all their questions answered during the discussion on the training topic and learned the secrets of pitching their stories.

The training united the Erasmus+ DESTIN project «Journalism Education for Democracy in Ukraine: Developing Standards, Integrity and Professionalism» and the «MediaHub» project helping to increase their effectiveness.
